THE ENCHANTMENT OF
THE LATTARI MOUNTAINS

Punta d'Aglio is one of the most beautiful places in the area of Scala, a favorite destination for walkers and trekkers. It is the calling card of the Lattari Mountains. A landscape of rocks and Mediterranean bush facing the sea of Atrani and Amalfi.

From the village of Campidoglio to Punta d'Aglio, the path is thick with the scent of Mediterranean scrub. Ravello trails slyly behind and even further back, at Capo d'Orso, are the sculptural rocks that jut out over the sea, which some say resemble the profile of a sleeping giant.

Through a dense conifer forest the path reaches a tunnel dug into the rock. During the last war it was used, by some Scalesi families, as a bomb shelter. We are on path n° 357 and soon you will reach a fountainfrom which you can fill your water bottles.

After one last curve a surprising scene materializes: the cliff of Punta d'Aglio, a high and imposing rock wall in the middle of a large mountainous amphitheater facing the sea.

the cliff

A climber faces the cliff of Punta d'Aglio. Considered the most beautiful of the Amalfi Coast, the wall is a gray-red limestone with routes of varying difficulty, fun for novices and experts alike.

A' FICA NOCE

Along the valley, on a semi-circular path, you reach a more densely wooded area, the source of the Ficanoce. From here, instead of continuing in the direction of Pogerola, you can descend towards Amalfi and enter the magical Ferriere Valley.
